Champions League Twenty 20

Taking the country by storm

In a cricket-mad country like India, organising the first edition of the Champions League Twenty20, an international club cricket tournament, was a big deal. It was held between 8 October and 23 October 2009 and featured 12 domestic teams from eight cricketing nations. And it was a big deal for us to be asked to do the stadium design for the tournament.

Using the logo design provided by the client, we worked on the concept of ‘cricket taking the country by storm’. The multi-coloured leaves in the logo were arranged so as to represent a storm that was brewing. We also used the range of colours in the vibgyor to indicate the multi-cultural, international nature of the tournament. The banners, hoardings, perimeter displays and stadium displays created by us were used in all stadiums across the nation where tournament matches were held.
