Appealing to the traveller’s basic instinct!
Getting travel-lovers used to relying on lazycow.com
The idea of naming a travel portal lazy cow came from letting the traveller know that the portal would do all the work while she/he could be a lazy cow. Once the name was approved by the client, we began to come up with designs. We wanted to use bright colours and a friendly look which would encourage site visitors to develop a sense of comfort with the brand – yellow, blue and a touch of pink in a font with rounded edged appealed to everyone.
As part of the website’s identity, we also designed a mascot: the lazy cow with a fun persona. In contrast to the logo type, she has a sharp boxy look (derived from luggage). She was used to promote the brand by featuring her in different outfits in different travel related situations or giving funny tips on travel.
